Premier League club interested in 'ambitious' move for £70m-rated Nottingham Forest star - journalist

Nottingham Forest are going to be fielding some interest in their players and a comical claim has been made by a transfer expert.

The Reds look to have met the criteria to avoid a points deduction during 2024/25 after selling Moussa Niakhate for PS27 million.

Now, Forest can pretty much pick and choose who they decide to keep, with clubs needing to fork out top money for their better players.

One player who has been the subject of vast interest is Murillo - with Forest valuing the defender around the PS70 million mark.

Now, another club has come forward as being interested in his services and it's hard to fathom who it is.

Wolves are now interested in Murillo, according to transfer guru Ben Jacobs who has been discussing the future of the Brazilian.

MORE FOREST STORIES

Forest aren't under any pressure to sell any more and that puts the club in a good position over their better players.

Wolves are clearly taking the proverbial here and the journalist has conceded it would be highly ambitious.

Give Me Sport claimed that Jacobs had 'heard some whispers' regarding Wolves being interested in Murillo but did suggest it would be very ambitious.

Forest are valuing their player at PS70 million and ultimately Wolves will not be in a position to spend that money all summer let alone on one defender.

Forest should keep Murillo for another year Although every footballer wants to play at the highest level, Murillo is still young and has time on his side.

He's still relatively new to men's football and as a result, it would make sense for him to have another year at Forest.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal have all been linked with Murillo and it's unlikely that the interest will waver in 12 months.

The Reds will try to be a little bit more ambitious next season and having the Brazilian remain at the club would be massive.

It's hard to image any club paying PS70 million for him right now and in our view, the player would be wise to remain on Trentside for one more season.
