'Like the idea': Nottingham Forest want to unleash 'fearsome partnership' next season -…
Source: Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are busy trying to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season with a number of players already added to the ranks.

The Reds are hoping to kick on after finishing 16th and 17th respectively in their first two years back in the Premier League.

Last season, scoring goals wasn't really a huge problem - but keeping them out almost ended their Premier League status and relegated the team.

With that in mind, it was imperative that Forest sought reinforcements, with Carlos Miguel signing between the posts and Nikola Milenkovic coming in to bolster the rearguard.

Some plans are already being put in place and now a reputable transfer journalist has shared what he's heard Forest would like to do this season.

Nuno Espirito Santo will want to make sure he knows his strongest team pretty quickly this season as he looks to kick the team up the league.

As a result, he will want settled partnerships all over the pitch if that's at all possible and journalist Ben Jacobs has shared what he's heard.

Forest have had question marks over the future of Murillo but he's shared a little update on his future and suggested what the team's plans will be.

The transfer expert told Forest Fan TV:"What I'm told is that he would like to leave - not in the sense that he's going to force his way out or anything - but if the right opportunity comes at a big six club and he can play regularly in Europe, he would tell Forest that he would like that opportunity.

"Right now though, Forest like the idea of Murillo and Milenkovic, they think they complement each other in terms of the attributes they've got, they're different types of player and together they could be a very fearsome partnership.

"Right now, it's all quiet on the Murillo front."

Forest can thrive with new defensive partnership Signing Milenkovic for PS12 million from Fiorentina looks like quality business and he could strike up a rapport with Murillo.

The Brazilian had a quality maiden season in the Premier League but as a young player, he isn't without imperfections.

What Murillo lacks in aerial prowess, Milenkovic more than makes up for and Jacobs is on the money to suggest that Forest fancy pairing the two players up.

Fans should be quite relaxed over the Murillo situation and it's not exactly a bold statement to suggest he'd jump at the chance to join a top-six club.

For a club in Forest's position they will always be at the mercy of the top clubs in the top-flight and a number of clubs are in the same position.

Right now, it looks as though Murillo will be staying and it's quite exciting to see how the Brazilian and Milenkovic perform together when the season begins.
