Report: How Leicester City’s squad value compares to the likes of Nottingham Forest, West Ham and more
Source: Leicester City

Leicester City have been ranked amongst the top 100 most expensive teams, and its position is quite surprising.

Throughout Leicester City's summer transfer window as they geared up for the 2024/25 Premier League season, there was a sense of caution surrounding their transfer dealings amid concerns with PSR.

The Foxes had sold Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea for PS30million, where he went to play under Enzo Maresca.

The money brought in from the major sale of their key midfielder wasn't quite utilised at the soonest possible point, however the latter stages of the transfer window finally saw Leicester City put the wheels in motion in spending to prepare for the Premier League, especially with the blockbuster signing of Bilal El Khannouss.

Following the summer transfer window, a report of the top 100 expensive squads in the world have been published, with The Foxes coming out surprisingly high.

Per CIES Football Observatory, Steve Cooper's squad has been ranked 26th in the world, with the list being ranked based on the value of a squad including add-ons.

As a result, the Foxes surprisingly have come behind Champions League giants Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund in 24th and 25th respectively.

In comparison to fellow Premier League sides, both Nottingham Forest and West Ham United are the two sides above Leicester City, who are in 20th and 18th respectively.

As a result, Cooper's side has the 14th highest squad value in the Premier League, which suggests that they should likely finish comfortably away from the relegation zone.

Of course there are many more factors to take into account with Leicester City's position, from a recent promotion, new manager and the signing of inexperienced Premier League players, but based on these results, it is clear that Cooper's bid for survival should be easily attainable in the 2024/25 campaign.

The Foxes haven't looked like a side destined for the drop after an inspired performance against Champions League side Aston Villa, however there will need to be signs of improvement regarding points on the board for Cooper's side after just a single point being on the board, leaving them in 15th.
