Liverpool coach Barry Lewtas has lauded Federico Chiesa for setting a fantastic example for the club's youngsters after training with the Under-21s.

Chiesa joined the Reds from Juventus in the final days of the summer transfer window and has been doing extra work to build his fitness during the break while the majority of his team-mates are away on international duty.

The 26-year-old had been frozen out by Juventus prior to leaving - but Lewtas has paid tribute to Chiesa's professionalism following his sessions with the club's youngsters.

The Japan international, who was signed by Jurgen Klopp last summer, was the subject of transfer interest from Marseille during the summer transfer window and has featured for just one minute in the Premier League so far this term.

But Endo believes that the upcoming flurry of games means it's inevitable he will get a chance to impress under Slot in the coming weeks.
