'Fantastic': Manager says he's so 'excited' to work with Forest loanee after seeing him play just 30 minutes

Nottingham Forest have enjoyed a really impressive start to the 2024/25 campaign with one win and two draws on the board.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side had a busy summer which saw plenty of players come through the doors at the City Ground.

With 11 signings secured over the summer, Forest have not taken any time in finding their feet in the opening three games of the term.

However, there have also been some exits from the City Ground with Forest needing to balance the books when it came to PSR back in June.

But with so many players coming into the club, there was also a need for some of the younger players to depart on loan to continue their development.

Five of those exits were loan deals which will provide the respective players to play more regular football than they would have got at Forest.

One of the players to make his departure on loan was the 20-year-old centre-forward Dale Taylor who has joined League One side Wigan Athletic.

With the EFL now around four games deep into their respective campaigns, Wigan's manager Shaun Maloney has hailed the early showings of Taylor.

"Dale is a talented footballer, who we believe will be a fantastic addition to our squad", Maloney told the club's website.

"He has already gained a lot of experience playing in League One and internationally with Northern Ireland, and I'm really excited to work with him.

"He is a strong and robust forward, who will add a different dimension to our frontline."

Dale Taylor has made bright start at Wigan At a time when Forest's options up front are not exactly at their strongest, in terms of depth, Taylor is impressing in League One.

Clearly his manager is impressed with the start the 20-year-old has made despite having played just 30 minutes in his opening game.

With Chris Wood as Forest's main option up top, an injury to the New Zealand striker could seriously derail what Nuno has going on at the City Ground.

If Taylor is to impress up until the winter window, perhaps Forest could look at bringing Taylor back to the club if they are in desperate need of some additions to their depth up top.
