Chelsea handed another fine by the FA after Premier League incident
Source:Football.London -

Chelsea have been fined by the FA for failing to control their players during the Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest earlier this month.

Players from both clubs clashed during their league meeting on October 6.

The clubs were charged after it was alleged they failed to ensure their players "didn't behave in an improper and/or provocative way around the 88th minute" of the game.

Both clubs accepted the charge and an FA spokesperson confirmed that Forest and Chelsea have been fined PS125,000 and PS40,000, respectively, for the incident.

A melee broke out in the closing stages of their 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge sparked by Forest defender Neco Williams pushing Chelsea's Marc Cucurella, which caused him to knock down Blues boss Enzo Maresca.

Nearly all 22 players plus substitutes and staff were involved in the fracas, which resulted in Cucurella being shown his fifth yellow card of the season while Williams and Levi Colwill were also booked.

A full statement published by the FA reads: "Nottingham Forest and Chelsea have been fined PS125,000 and PS40,000 respectively for the mass confrontation at their Premier League fixture on Sunday, October 6.

It was alleged that Nottingham Forest and Chelsea failed to ensure their players didn't behave in an improper and/or provocative way around the 88th minute, and both clubs accepted this charge.

"An independent Regulatory Commission imposed their respective fines following a hearing, and its written reasons for them can be seen below.

"It comes after it was reported on Sunday that Chelsea are set to be slapped with a PS75,000 fine after becoming the first team in Premier League history to receive six or more yellow cards in three games within a single season.

The Blues faced off against Newcastle at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, securing a victory thanks to goals from Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson.

However, their triumph was marred by multiple clashes with referee Simon Hooper.

Six players, along with manager Enzo Maresca, were shown yellow cards by Hooper.

This follows matches against Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest where Chelsea also had six or more players booked.

After the win over Bournemouth in September, the FA issued a PS25,000 fine, which was increased to PS50,000 following the clash with Forest.

Mirror Football has confirmed that Chelsea can anticipate another substantial fine, somewhat tarnishing Sunday's victory.

In a statement, the FA said: "This will be a PS75k fine for Chelsea for 6+ cautioned in today's game (third multi-participant misconduct of the season).
