Leeds United U21s are up to eighth in Premier League Two after a 1-0 win away at Nottingham Forest.

The young Whites are above the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur in the table after a fifth victory in a row across all competitions, three of which have come in the league.

Over the last week or so, Leeds' U21s have seen their side significantly weakened in terms of personnel, with a couple of players going out on loan for their first taste of senior football.

Top scorer Luca Thomas joined York City on a short-term loan and even scored on his debut, while full-back Joe Richards has also moved to South Shields temporarily.

That has seen manager Scott Gardner promote a couple of U18s into the starting side for the U21s, though that did not stop their fine run of form continuing at Forest.

Charlie Cresswell - who departed Leeds for Toulouse in the summer - has a brother named Alfie also in the academy at Elland Road.

Alfie is very highly rated in West Yorkshire and that was shown by him being handed a new three-year-deal in the summer.

MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIESAt just 17, Cresswell has already been promoted up to the U21s this season and has really started to make his mark in the last few weeks.

After netting in a 4-3 win at Boston in the National League Cup earlier this month, Cresswell scored the winner in Leeds' 1-0 win at Forest on Monday night.

Featuring in a side also containing fringe first team duo Charlie Crew and James Debayo, Cresswell broke the deadlock six minutes from time to earn Leeds a big win.

Charlie Cresswell shares how he's settling at Toulouse While Alfie attempts to force his way into Leeds' first team in the coming years, Charlie is now plying his trade out in France.

As mentioned, Cresswell made the move to Ligue 1 side Toulouse back in the summer and after eight league appearances so far, has explained how he's settled in a recent interview.

He said: "Since my birth, thanks to my father's job, I've evolved in the world of football.

I always loved it! I have always been in this environment.

My father didn't just give me a love of football, he gave me values and a strong feeling of family which are important to me today.

"I like to play somewhere that has value for the fans and at TFC I feel like I've got back what I had at Leeds or Millwall.

The difference is that at Toulouse, I don't yet understand the supporters' chants.
