Chris Wood is making the headlines with his goalscoring ability this season in the Premier League, which has resulted in Chris Sutton making a claim on the striker.

Nuno Espirito Santo has worked wonders with a number of players off the field at Nottingham Forest, with fans starting to see the benefits of it on the field in the Premier League.

Chris Wood is the prime example, going from what some would say was an ordinary top-flight striker to one that is giving Erling Haaland a run for his money.

He's taken his tally to seven goals in nine Premier League games for Forest after bagging a brace in the second half against Leicester City last time out.

Martin O'Neill has admitted that he's stunned by the way Wood has gone about his business this season.

Interestingly, Chris Sutton has now made a claim about the striker, but we already know that Nuno Espirito Santo won't share the same opinion.

Chris Sutton wasn't a bad striker himself and knows a thing or two about scoring goals.

Speaking on the Leaving it Late Show, Sutton said this.

"Just on Chris Wood, Rob, when you think about underrated strikers in the Premier League era, where would, where would he be? I think he's so underrated, crucial for Nottingham Forest.

"Nuno Espirito Santo knows Chris Wood's worth already Nuno Espirito Santo made a big thing about Chris Wood no longer being called underrated after his performances for Nottingham Forest this season.

Speaking in his pre-Leicester press conference, Nuno had this to say when asked if Chris Wood is a player who's maybe a little bit underrated.

"Not by us.

Not by me at all.

I have a big admiration for Chris since we arrived, he's been amazing.

I always say the same, it's not only on the pitch and we are delighted.

"And what we want is for him to continue.

"It's about time people realise this is what Chris Wood does; he scores goals.

There should be no surprise or doubts surrounding his goalscoring ability anymore.
