Alan Shearer raves about 'sensational' Nottingham Forest defender and his 'commanding' teammate
Source:Football News,

Nottingham Forest are flying high in the Premier League as they sit third in the table after hammering West Ham United last time out.

The Reds opened the scoring in the 27th minute through in-form goal machine Chris Wood, who nodded home from close range for his eighth of the season.

Things then got better for Forest as Edson Alvarez was sent off after two quickfire yellows to leave West Ham down to ten men by the break.

Forest tightened their grip on the game on 65 minutes when Callum Hudson-Odoi curled a rolled free kick past Lukasz Fabianski and into the far corner.

Finally, Ola Aina added a third when he cut out a poor clearance attempt from Jean-Clair Todibo before firing into the top-right corner.

Forest's masterclass against the East Londoners resulted in Alan Shearer naming two of their players in his latest Premier League Team of the Week.

Shearer wrote of Aina on the Premier League website: "Scored a sensational goal in the victory over West Ham and was part of a solid defensive display from Nottingham Forest."

He then said of Murillo: "Another commanding performance from the Forest centre-back, whose form this season has been rewarded with a first call-up for Brazil."

The Nottingham Post gave Aina an 8.5 out of 10 for his efforts and wrote: "What a goal! Heck of a way to open his account for the campaign.

"The goalkeeper had no chance as he thumped it home. Get that new contract sorted ASAP."

Likewise, Murillo got an 8.5 out of 10 rating and the Nottingham Post said: "Came into the game on the back of earning a well-deserved (and well overdue) Brazil call-up.

"Showed the kind of quality which has seen him finally get the nod for his country."

Not only are Forest flying high in the Premier League, but Arsenal sporting director Edu has reportedly agreed a deal in principle to take up a role with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.

Forest are next in action on Sunday afternoon when they host Newcastle United at the City Ground.
