TWO Saints players have been named in the latest Sky Bet Championship team of the week following their 2-1 win over Plymouth on Friday evening.

Goalscorer Charly Alcaraz has been selected as one of the three best-performing midfielders in the division on December 29.

His goal on 56 minutes gave Southampton the lead moments after they thought they had fallen behind to Bali Mumba's header.

The 22 year old's goal was ruled offside, much to the frustration of Plymouth interim boss Neil Dewsnip.

Also named in this week's team of the week is Saints full-back Kyle Walker-Peters.

The 26 year old returned to right-back before moving back to the wing following Stephens' introduction.

Walker-Peters created the most chances of any player on the pitch (five).

He was also a constant threat with the ball at his feet having completed six dribbles - also the highest total.

The former England international is the only outfield player to play every minute in the Championship for Southampton this season.

He has scored twice and provided two assists in 25 appearances so far this season.
