West Brom and QPR face off in a significant Championship encounter on Saturday with both sides determined to claim the win.

West Brom currently occupy a play-off spot, but with teams around them picking up form, they can't afford any more slip-ups.

WBA have been inconsistent of late, with only two wins in their last six games.

However, Tony Mowbray's side are unbeaten in three games, securing impressive 1-1 draws away at Millwall and Leeds whilst also winning 2-0 at home to Oxford in-between.

A win here would strengthen their position in the top six and keep their promotion hopes on track.

QPR, on the other hand, sit 14th in the table, eight points off the play-off spots.

While an unlikely late surge could still see them make a push, their chances of breaking into the top six seem slim.

However, a win at The Hawthorns would move them just five points behind West Brom and give them a glimmer of hope.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game.

Mac Whittaker "This is a massive game for Mowbray's side.

The Baggies are fighting to solidify their play-off position and cannot afford to drop points at home.

"With the improved performances of WBA in their last couple of games, I expect them to come out strong and get the job done.

"Prediction: West Brom 2-0 QPR James Ray "West Brom are still finding their feet under Tony Mowbray but they're picking up some good results and playing some pleasing football.

They should only get better as they settle into the new boss' ways, so it makes for good reading that they're in a play-off spot.

"The Rs can definitely still cause some problems for WBA too.

However, I think the hosts have a more potent attack, and I reckon that makes the difference here.

"I'll back West Brom to win this one 2-1, strengthening their play-off push.

"Prediction: West Brom 2-1 QPR.
