Premier League. Four things we learnt from Newcastle's dominant win against ...
Source:Vavel

The Magpies breezed past Sheffield United, moving up to seventh in the league, only one point behind Manchester United.

The game started with Anel Ahmedhodzic scoring within the first five minutes to give the away side the lead.

However, 19 minutes later, Alexander Isak scored the equalising goal with a nice finish from range.

The home side then took control of the game, scoring two goals early in the second half through Bruno Guimaraes and Isak scoring his second.

An own goal from Ben Osborn and a goal from Callum Wilson rounded out a comfortable 5-1 win for Eddie Howe's men.

Here are four things that VAVEL learnt:

Newcastle bounce back after losing midweek: After losing 2-0 to Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, Eddie Howe's men needed to win against Sheffield United.

They did just that and won convincingly, with Isak getting another brace.

The Swedish international has now scored 19 goals in the Premier League. He is only one goal behind Cole Palmer and Erling Haaland for the Golden Boot.

This shows how vital the striker is for the Magpies currently and in the future.

Anthony Gordon also showed today why he is vital, getting two assists and having another good performance.

Callum Wilson has come back from injury and got onto the scoresheet, which is a big boost for this Newcastle side in the last couple of weeks of the season.

Sheffield United are heading back to the Championship: The loss today confirms the Blades' relegation to the Championship next year, pending the appeal process for Everton and Nottingham Forest.

Today's performance sums up Chris Wilder's men's season, which has been a poor one.

They have lost 25 games in the Premier League while conceding 97 goals, a league record.

Coming up from the Championship last season, they would have wanted to do better, but they have been poor this season, which has meant their relegation.

Final European push for Newcastle: Newcastle will now look ahead to the final four fixtures of the season.

They go to Burnley away next and then have Brentford at home, with their final two games away from home against Manchester United and Brentford.

These are winnable fixtures for the Magpies, who have only lost one of their five games.

If they can pick up a couple of wins in these final four games, they can get European League football next season.

However, they need to get more points than Manchester United, who sit just one point ahead of them.

After a poor start to the season, Eddie Howe and his team will be pleased with how the season can end if they win their next few games and finish the season strong going into next year.

The Blades have three games left against Nottingham Forest, Everton, and Tottenham.

They won't be playing for much in these final three games, but they can still pick up a win before going to the Championship next season.

They will want to come back up straight away next season, but Chris Wilder's future is in doubt, so they must get a manager before the start of pre-season.

However, there are positives for the future, with Oliver Luke Arblaster coming through the ranks and now being the club's captain.

He will be a vital player next year for the Blades, playing in the heart of the midfield.

The Sheffield-born player will want to make an impact over the next three games to show the fans what is in store for next year.
