90 per cent pass accuracy, 2 key passes: Wolves midfielder was top-class for Ireland U21's
Source: Molineux

Joe Hodge represented Ireland's under 21's last night when they faced Latvia.

The Wolves midfielder was excellent in the game as he played all 90 minutes.

Joe Hodge is believed to be unhappy currently with his playing time at Molineux, however impressed here.

Gary O'Neil we are sure will have been paying close attention to Hodge's display and could be reconsidering his position on the Irish 21-year-old.

After his display v Latvia, we decided to look at his stats from SofaScore...

Joe Hodge excellent for Ireland Hodge played the entire game for Ireland and in this he made a whopping 90 touches.

His heavy involvement resulted in him completing 90% of his passes, 61/68 passes showcased his ability to control a midfield.

Of these passes he made two key passes and one big chance that also showed his creative ability.

Five duels were won which showed his tenacity off and on the ball.

Along with this one clearance, three interceptions and three tackles just added to his excellent defensive display.

Does he deserve a chance in the first-team Hodge's excellent display will be hard to ignore for O'Neil as he will be keen to not lose him on-loan in January.

We don't see any reason why he shouldn't be given some cameo displays off the bench to prove his worth.

We aren't suggesting he starts at all just yet, however at 21, he needs to be given a chance to see if he can rise to the level.

A loan move would also be a good option, however once he gets the taste of first-team football, it'll be hard to relegate him to the bench again.
