Middlesbrough are not pursuing a move for Bournemouth attacker Jamal Lowe this summer, as per a report by the Northern Echo. Middlesbrough have been linked with a swoop for the Swansea City loan man ahead of next season.

Lowe, 29, is said to be on Boro's radar along with fellow Championship sides Norwich City, Ipswich Town, Derby County, Millwall, Watford and Portsmouth, according to a report by TBR Football.

However, as clarified by the Northern Echo, he is not on Michael Carrick's radar.

Lowe would offer Middlesbrough more competition in attacking areas if they were to lure him up north.

However, they will be looking at other targets as they look to push for promotion next year.

Latest Stories Lowe is out of contract at the end of next month and is due to become available as a free agent. He is an experienced attacker and would be a decent pick-up for a team in the second tier.

Swansea City swooped to land him on loan last summer and he has since made 33 appearances in all competitions for the Welsh outfit, finding the net on nine occasions.

The forward signed for Portsmouth in 2017 from Hampton & Richmond Borough in non-league and found the net on 29 occasions for the Hampshire club, helping them gain promotion from League Two under Paul Cook during his time there.

Pompey have been credited with an interest in him again now after their League One title win under John Mousinho.

Wigan Athletic then snapped him up and he has since had stints with the likes of QPR, Swansea City and parent club Bournemouth with his future up in the air.

He is due to play his last game for the Swans this weekend as they face Millwall at home.
