Local media slam 20-year-old Tottenham loanee, Director being questioned for signing him
Source:Tbrfootball

Tottenham loaned Alejo Veliz out to Sevilla back in January to ensure the 20-year-old received some playing time to aid his development.

It seemed like a wise move from Spurs.

The Argentine was able to chat to someone with close links to Tottenham in Erik Lamela, while he was even shown around the streets of Seville by a friend who knows the area very well in Bryan Gil.

However, things are not exactly going to plan for Alejo Veliz away from Tottenham...

Alejo Veliz criticised while on loan from Tottenham Well, Spanish news outlet Diario de Sevilla have now launched an attack on Victor Orta - Director of Football at Sevilla.

The Sevillian news outlet questioned the Spaniard for signing Veliz, and described the South American as being a 'failure' of a signing after a worryingly low level of contribution.

In fairness to the Argentina U20 international, Quique Sanchez Flores has only given him 23 minutes of action in La Liga - which is not much time to impress whatsoever.

Therefore, it seems like the negativity is being aimed more at Orta for signing Veliz, although there was still slight criticism aimed at the prospect from Godeken.

Diario de Sevilla specifically questioned why the 45-year-old signed the youngster on loan from Tottenham without negotiating an option to buy in the deal.

Effectively, the local news outlet in Sevilla sound annoyed that the Spanish side are developing another club's player - while receiving little in return.

Waste of time Veliz is arguably one of the most precocious talents at Tottenham, but his loan spell at Sevilla is proving to be a huge waste of everybody's time.

Sevilla aren't benefitting, Tottenham aren't benefitting, and neither is the Argentinian prospect, which comes as a real shame.

That isn't going to happen at this rate, so hopefully, Tottenham can find a way to get Veliz out of his nightmarish loan spell at Sevilla, or work hard to find a better destination this summer.
