Tottenham Hotspur are likely to bolster their midfield ranks at the end of the season, according to speculation doing the rounds on the rumour mill.
With Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Tanguy Ndombele facing uncertain futures at Spurs and the jury still being out on Oliver Skipp, there's certainly scope for reinforcements in the middle of the park.
Tottenham fans will probably be aware of widespread speculation linking Spurs with Chelsea's Conor Gallagher, and this is likely to intensify in the coming months.
However, there's another name doing the rounds that looks like a good shout for Tottenham. This is a player from Serie A, a league that has provided many a gem for Spurs in recent years.
The player in question is Atalanta's Ederson, one of the brightest midfielders in the Italian top flight.
However, in the last few days, we've had reports suggesting Tottenham are very interested in the 24-year-old and that a move could well be on the cards.

For instance, GiveMeSport has reported that Tottenham are 'totally convinced' that Ederson would be ideal for them.
'Dramatic improvements in his game', not to mention his versatility, have led to Tottenham seriously considering a bid for him this summer, according to the report.
In addition, Ange Postecoglou has reportedly been blown away by Ederson's ability to regain possession and quickly get the ball to Atalanta's attackers.
Meanwhile, according to Sports Lens, Spurs are said to be 'increasingly likely' to move for the Brazilian talent.
They say Ederson is also attracting interest from Newcastle and Manchester United, but Spurs could well make the midfielder their 'priority' this summer.
Obviously you can't discount the prospect of Tottenham moving for both Ederson and Gallagher.
Indeed, there have been reports claiming both could be valued as low as PS30million. If that's the case, Spurs would surely be able to afford both.
However, if a bidding war breaks out for Gallagher - and with him being a Premier League star and England international, it's not unlikely - then Tottenham risk being priced out of a move.
In that case, Ederson could well become the standout candidate. After all, he has been dubbed a 'very complete midfielder' with 'great strength and speed'.
Ederson could well light up the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, so let's see what happens in the coming months. Hopefully Spurs will firm up their interest.
