Report: Tottenham have a teenager in their academy now who's drawing comparisons with Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Jamie Donley is drawing comparisons with Spurs icon Harry Kane.

The North Londoners and the England captain decided to part ways this summer. It was an emotional moment for the two parties, but it looks like both Tottenham and the striker have benefitted from the separation. Now, Spurs may have a new Kane coming through their ranks.

The Englishman scored 278 goals and provided 64 assists in all competitions for Spurs before leaving the club as an absolute hero in the summer.

Tottenham decided against replacing Kane in the last window, and to be fair to them, that decision hasn't affected them one bit. They have been brilliant this season - perhaps even better than they ever were when the England captain was leading their line.

Spurs will eventually have to bring in a top-quality striker to replace Kane, but The Athletic claim this week that there is a teenager at the club - Jamie Donley - who is already drawing comparisons to a younger version of the Bayern Munich man.

The 18-year-old has scored six goals and provided nine assists for Tottenham's youth sides this season. He can play as a number nine, a second striker and also as an attacking midfielder.

Donley has a massive future ahead of him, and even if he has half as good a career as Kane, he will end up being a star for Tottenham.

Just over a month ago, Alasdair Gold backed the talented teenager to go on and emulate either the England captain or James Maddison in the coming years at Spurs.

Donley is one of Tottenham's most talented players right now. His potential is absolutely massive, and it's only a matter of time before he gets an opportunity in the first team.

We have a feeling he will make his debut under Ange Postecoglou before the end of this season.
