David Moyes is expected to wait until the summer before deciding on his West Ham future, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports reporter shared the update via GiveMeSport [29 March] ahead of West Ham's return to action against Newcastle United.

Moyes is due to be out of contract at London Stadium in June, but he revealed earlier this year that he has been offered fresh terms to stay on.

Sheth said: "I think he's bookmarked it now. I think he's just said 'right, this is for the summer. I'm going to decide in the summer'.

"He doesn't want anything distracting West Ham United from potentially pushing up the league and getting a European spot via the Premier League. And of course, maybe just maybe, another fantastic season in Europe."

David Moyes offered new contract by West Ham United While he may still have many doubters, Moyes was deserving of his new contract after leading West Ham to silverware last year.

That goodwill seemed to last for a matter of months and there was certainly a pile-on when results went south not so long ago.

The Irons are now back on track both domestically and in Europe, though, and there has therefore been less questions regarding the manager.

At the same time, United chiefs are surely not happy that Moyes is potentially going to hold out until the summer to come to a decision?

It means the Irons are unable to begin the search for his successor, meaning many managerial candidates could be snapped up by a rival.

Exiting the Europa League, regardless of the strength of the opposition, will lead to unrest among the fanbase.

Moyes has earned the right to decide his own future, but he cannot spend another two months deliberating over it.
