Mohammed Kudus has revealed that he believes his best position is as a central attacking midfielder in an interview with Sky Sports.

The 23-year-old has primarily been used as a winger since joining from Ajax at the start of the season, however, rather than playing in his preferred role.

When asked what his best position was, however, Kudus - who has also filled in as a central striker at times - was unequivocal in his answer.

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: "[My best position is] like a number 10, attacking midfielder. That's where I've played all my years since I was a kid.

"Recently, I've played on the wings or even as a striker sometimes but I've always been a midfielder."

David Moyes should unleash Mohammed Kudus as an attacking midfielder for West Ham Kudus has enjoyed a strong debut season in the Premier League with West Ham, managing 12 goals and four assists in 39 appearances across all competitions so far.

However, it is clear that there is even more potential for attacking returns from the Ghanaian star - and unleashing him in his preferred position could unlock a new level of performance from both the player and the team.

Thus far, David Moyes has only started Kudus in a central role once - in a 1-0 win over League One side Lincoln City in the League Cup.

West Ham David Moyes has had a mixed season at West Ham The versatile attacker's strike rate last season for Ajax - when he split his playing time between attacking midfield, ring wing and centre-forward - was superb, netting 11 times in just 1,789 Eredivisie minutes compared to seven Premier League strikes in 2,043 minutes this term. Even accounting for the step up in quality, it is clear that Kudus can offer even more productivity than he has.

The question is, will Moyes use him in his best position?
