West Ham United apparently could be about to make a really surprising call on centre-back Angelo Ogbonna.

Angelo Ogbonna joined West Ham from Italian giants Juventus in the summer of 2015 for around PS8.5 million (talkSPORT).

The 35-year-old Hammers defender has been nowhere near his best this season, and has only played 111 Premier League minutes (Transfermarkt).

The experienced Italian is currently the fourth-choice centre-back under David Moyes, maybe even fifth if you include Thilo Kehrer.

And it seems as though he could be on his way out of the London Stadium in January...

In fact, I would like Moyes to keep Angelo Ogbonna at West Ham in some kind of coaching role. His experience would be invaluable and his laid-back demeanour makes him ideally suited to helping the talented youngsters that we have coming through the ranks.

It seems as though the Hammers want to sell the Italian though. I just can't see anyone paying a fee for him in January when he'll be available on a free transfer just five months later. Hopefully the 35-year-old remains at the London Stadium beyond the end of the season in some kind of coaching capacity.
