Steidten reportedly now eyeing move to bring 27-year-old Argentina international to West Ham

West Ham United manager David Moyes should be looking to sign a new central-back either in January or next summer.

David Moyes has made some terrific signings for West Ham in the summer, with Konstantinos Mavropanos one of the four new names brought through the door at the London Stadium.

The Hammers boss needs to bring in more defensive reinforcements though, with the club allegedly keen to move Angelo Ogbonna on in the January window.

David Moyes eyeing new centre-back signing for West Ham West Ham United are keen to sign Fiorentina's Martinez Quarta in the January transfer window, according to a report from Calciomercato.it.

The report claims that the Hammers will have to pay at least PS22 million though, if Moyes is to bring the 12-capped Argentina international to the Premier League from Serie A.

MORE WEST HAM STORIES

The 27-year-old joined Fiorentina from River Plate back in 2020, but it seems as though he could now be set to leave La Viola.

West Ham and Brighton are thought to be battling it out for his services, so he must be a top-class player...

He is a really progressive passer as well, and always takes on the risky option in order to progress his team further up the pitch. This is highlighted by his relatively poor pass completion rate for a central defender of just 79.3% (Who Scored).

Martinez Quarta stands at just 6ft tall, and there have to be question marks about his suitability to the robust, physical and intense nature of Premier League.

I'm not sure that signing him for PS22 million this winter would be a smart move by West Ham manager David Moyes. There are plenty of better and more suitable options out there.
