Moyes has Arnautovic 2.0 right under his nose and it could save his West Ham career - view

David Moyes should consider completely changing one West Ham United player's position in order to salvage his career at the London Stadium.

West Ham manager David Moyes has built an incredible squad at the London Stadium over the past few yeears.

The Hammers boss made some terrific signings in the summer and remarkably, we now look like a better team after the exit of our best player over the past four years - Declan Rice.

However, there have been some signings made by Moyes who quite simply haven't lived up to the hype that they arrived with...

The 27-year-old was heavily linked with a deadline day move away from the Hammers, but he remained at the London Stadium in the end.

So what now for Cornet? Moyes seems to have no interest whatsoever in starting him, or giving him any kind of meaningful minutes for that matter.

This season, he has been given just one Premier League minute and only four in the Europa League and 66 in the Carabao Cup (Transfermarkt).

The injury that he suffered in October 2022 was a huge setback for the Ivory Coast international. However, he returned to training in March of this year, so he's had plenty of time to get back into the groove.

The big problem that he faces is the fact that he's definitely not going to usurp Lucas Paqueta in the left wing role that the Brazilian has now made his own.

And even if Paqueta is forced to miss a game through injury or suspension, Said Benrahma is next in line to come in. Cornet is even behind third-choice Pablo Fornals in the pecking order.

That's not even bringing Mohammed Kudus into the equation! The outlook really is bleak for the former Burnley man at the London Stadium.

There is one thing that Moyes could do though, in order to salvage Cornet's Hammers career...

One specific attribute that a player requires in order to make that particular transition is pace, and Cornet possesses that in abundance.

Sure, he's been poor since moving to the London Stadium, but he hasn't really been given a proper chance in all fairness to him.

So if he is to have any chance of salvaging his West Ham career, I believe that David Moyes must try him out as a striker in either our Europa League games before the end of the year or the Carabao Cup clash with Arsenal.

It would provide Moyes with the chance to give Michail Antonio a much-needed rest, and at least then we'd be able to see if Cornet has anything to offer.

He was a real live-wire for Burnley and Lyon before he joined West Ham, and it would be such a waste to move him on before actually giving him a fair crack of the whip.

And as far as I'm concerned, the only way for Moyes to do that will be to try him out as a centre-forward. What has he got to lose?
