West Ham United take on Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Saturday in what is being dubbed as a must-win game for Julen Lopetegui.
Ipswich Town will be the visitors at the London Stadium this weekend for a Premier League game that West Ham absolutely cannot afford to lose.
Julen Lopetegui is under a lot of pressure in his role as Hammers head coach right now, but it has been claimed that his job is under no threat at the moment.
One thing's for sure, things must improve on the pitch, if the Spaniard is to keep the vultures from his door.
There has been a worrying lack of cohesion on display from the West Ham players in our Premier League games so far this season.
And I believe there is something very specific he could do with one of his star men this weekend that would help get the best out of a whole group of players.
Julen Lopetegui must start West Ham star in new position vs Ipswich The Spaniard's start to life at the London Stadium has been far from ideal.
MORE WEST HAM STORIES
The results in the league have been poor, and the Hammers have been knocked out of the Carabao Cup as well.
And then on Saturday, things went from bad to worse for Lopetegui, after rumours emerged that he had fallen out with Mohammed Kudus at half-time during our clash with Brentford.
The West Ham owners have apparently already contacted Kudus's representatives in order to explain to them that everything is fine between the player and manager.
However, in order to really prove that, Lopetegui should start Kudus through the middle as a striker for our clash with Ipswich Town.
The Hammers signed Kudus from Ajax in the summer of 2023 for around PS36 million (Africa News).
He has been absolutely sensational for us over the past 14 months or so, with 14 goals and seven assists in 53 games to his name.
However, Saturday's incident at Brentford has somewhat sullied his reputation in East London.
Mohammed Kudus has everything needed to be a striker The Ghanaian played through the middle as a central striker at times for Ajax, and he has absolutely everything needed to flourish in that role for the Hammers.
Kudus has explosive pace, is incredibly strong and there aren't many better dribblers in world football than him.
The former Ajax man is a very good finisher, and he would give centre-backs all sorts of trouble with his movement and brute strength.
With Niclas Fullkrug expected to miss the West Ham vs Ipswich Town clash, Kudus has to start as our striker in my opinion.
He's a lot better than both Michail Antonio and Danny Ings, there's no doubt about that.
That would mean that Jarrod Bowen can remain in his best position on the right wing, and Crysencio Summerville can start out wide on the left.
Lucas Paqueta can then start in the number 10 role with Tomas Soucek and either Guido Rodriguez or Edson Alvarez slotted in behind.
Lopetegui needs to try something different on Saturday. The definition of insanity is doing something over and over again, and expecting a different result.
The Hammers head coach starting Kudus through the middle could be his blueprint to success, and at the same time, it would put to bed talk of a spat between the two.
