West Ham United took on Ipswich Town at the London Stadium on Saturday, and Tony Gale was hugely critical of one of our players.
Tony Gale was on co-comms duty for the West Ham vs Ipswich Town Premier League clash at the London Stadium.
The game started with a ferocious pace, and the Hammers opened the scoring inside the first minute through a Michail Antonio strike.
However, Ipswich responded within just five minutes of our goal, with Liam Delap restoring parity for the visitors.
Mohammed Kudus then put us 2-1 up just before the break with a really important goal.
And Jarrod Bowen made it 3-1 just after the half-time interval with a terrific strike, before Lucas Paqueta made it 4-1.
There were some good individual performances on display today from the West Ham players, but some pretty poor ones as well.
MORE WEST HAM STORIES
And former Hammer Tony Gale was disgusted by one West Ham man's display in particular.
Tony Gale rips into West Ham player for performance vs Ipswich Too many of the Hammers' big players are failing to show up right now.
The main culprit is Lucas Paqueta - he has been really poor for us so far this season.
The Brazilian clearly has a lot of things on his mind at the moment, and he faces a lifetime ban from football if he's found guilty of being involved in an alleged betting scam.
Paqueta wasn't at the races for the Hammers against Ipswich today, and Tony Gale made it very clear that he needs to do more.
Gale said, "He defended awfully, he's got to do better there,"
And then when Hutchinson beat Paqueta far too easily in the 22nd minute, Gale laid into the Brazilian again.
He said, "Lazy defending again there."
I totally agree with Lopetegui here. That performance from Paqueta today was nowhere near good enough, and he needs to improve massively.
Lucas Paqueta must be dropped In my opinion, the Brazilian needs to be taken out of the team.
He's a hugely talented player and has done a lot of brilliant things for the Hammers, but his heart is clearly not quite in it at the moment.
Lopetegui should bring Carlos Soler into the team and give the Spaniard a real chance to show us all what he's capable of.
Lucas Paqueta is not strong enough in the challenge, and he's far too wasteful in possession of the football - two things that West Ham really don't need from our players right now.
Kevin Nolan actually suggested recently that Lopetegui should move him back out to the left wing, when speaking on BBC Sport's Kick Off podcast with Darren Fletcher.
However, I think that more drastic action is required.
Dropping the Brazilian would be a really big call from Lopetegui, but it's a decision that he has to make as far as I'm concerned.
Maybe some time out of the team would actually be good for Paqueta. It would give him time to assess his current situation properly, enable him to get his mind right.
