We're delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive West Ham United columnist. Each week he'll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the London Stadium...
Dan Plumley has insisted it would be relatively cheap to sack David Moyes at West Ham United as his contract continues to run down this season.
It comes after Sean Whetstone reported that Tim Steidten would be drawing up a list of possible replacements regardless of the future of Moyes.
The finance expert admitted that all managers run a natural course of time at their clubs, but the end game may be closing in for Moyes as reports continue.
"With this, we have to remember that all managers run a natural course of time at all clubs," he exclusively told West Ham Zone.
"It feels like that is starting to be the case at West Ham with changes higher up in the ownership structure and new people coming in these technical director and sporting director recruitment roles.
"That obviously then places the manager role in question, I think while ever the performances on the pitch are okay and are satisfying the board, that will remain in place.
"West Ham have probably had as good a start to the season as many would have hoped for given the challenges of now playing in Europe and the run they've had.
"You tend to feel that the Moyes situation was going to have an end game to it, and that end game is coming pretty soon and I don't mean any disrespect, I just think that is the nature and direction of the club.
"If you're looking to make that move anyway, the more the contract runs down, the cheaper that becomes and it will be interesting to see how it plays out."
