West Ham United Face Tough Competition For This Gifted Winger: Is He Worth The Fight?
Source:The4thofficial

In a recent report, Goal mentioned that West Ham United are facing tough competition for Corinthians winger Wesley this summer. It is believed that the Hammers would have to rival Atletico Madrid in the race to land the Brazilian wide player later this year.

Wesley's Excellent Rise In Brazilian Football Wesley has experienced a rapid rise at the Brazilian club as he has managed to prove his worth as a first-team starter for them recently. The Brazilian youngster has featured in 58 matches for Corinthians thus far, finding the back of the net six times and earning three assists in multiple competitions.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a good run of form in the final third based on his average of 1.8 shots, 1.3 key passes and 3.5 dribbles per game in the Brasileirao. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball in the opponent's half after making 81.1% of his attempted passes in the Brazilian first division (stats via whoscored).

His current deal at Corinthians will expire at the end of 2027 which could make it difficult for the Hammers to snap him up on a cut-price deal in the summer transfer window.

Wesley has the potential to be a world-class winger someday. Therefore, he would be a brilliant addition to West Ham boss David Moyes' squad in the long run. He is already good enough to challenge for a regular starting place at the London Stadium in the coming seasons.

Hence, Wesley would be well worth the fight, so the Hammers should focus on trying everything they can to lure him to the English capital when the transfer window commences at the end of this season. However, it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in Premier League football.
