Former Tottenham striker Mido has urged Daniel Levy to complete the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt ace Omar Marmoush this summer. The 25-year-old forward has made quite the impression in his first season with Eintracht after sealing a free transfer to the German side following his VfL Wolfsburg departure.
In 25 Bundesliga appearances this term, Marmoush, who can operate on either wing and also as a striker, has 11 goals and six assists to his name. The Egyptian international has also impressed in the Europa Conference League after registering four goals in seven outings and he has also scored in the DFB-Pokal.
In total, Marmoush has 16 goals and six assists in his 37 appearances in all competitions for Die Adler in the 2023/24 campaign. Going on his form for club and country, Mido wants Spurs to make a move for his fellow countryman.
A new striker will very likely be on Ange Postecoglou and Johan Lange's shopping list as they look to find a long-term replacement for Harry Kane, who departed for Bayern Munich back in August. Tottenham are short on out-and-out strikers at the club at present, with Richarlison in and out of the team at times over the course of the season and Son Heung-min sometimes playing through the middle rather than on the left-wing.
Valued at PS19million by Transfermarkt.com, it has been reported that Marmoush, who has also been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool recently, could cost around PS43million if a club wants to prise him away from Deutsche Bank Park. Having stated that he previously told Tottenham to sign Mohamed Salah when he played for Basel but the north London club "never listened" to him, Mido has encouraged Levy to make a move for Marmoush as he believes he is perfect for Postecoglou's Tottenham system.
Taking to his X account, Mido said: "Years ago I advised #Spurs to sign #salah when he was still at #Basil (sic) they never listened to me..now I'm telling you plz go for Marmoush he will be great signing will fit in perfectly in Angie's (sic) system as a left or right winger..hard worker top professional and can score goals..plz #levy sign #Marmoush from #Frankfurt #COYS."
Marmoush's latest goal for Eintracht came on Friday evening as he netted in the 95th minute to help secure a 3-1 win over Augsburg. The versatile attacker will be looking to make his mark in the weeks ahead with Eintracht due to face the Bundesliga's best in Bayern Munich and newly-crowned champions Bayer Leverkusen over the next fortnight.
