The most iconic image of Bayern Munich's midweek win over Arsenal in the Champions League was the group photo taken after the match, with absolutely everyone in the squad somehow managing to fit in the frame (though poor Bryan Zaragoza was unfortunately covered by Alexsandar Pavlovic celebrating), demonstrating the utter joy that came with defeating the Londoners.
But when Wednesday came to a close and celebrations had to come to an end, thoughts had to return to the Bundesliga and the game coming up in just a few short games. After such celebrations, how would the Bavarians fare?
Very well, it turns out. Speaking after Bayern's 5-1 walloping of hapless Union Berlin, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, Thomas Tuchel congratulated his team for staying sharp.
"We're happy, it was a perfect week for us. It is not a given to win here in this way after the difficult game we had mid-week. Compliments to the team. It was a team effort."
Thomas Tuchel and his squad will now have a week off, able to focus on the upcoming matches against Eintracht Frankfurt and Real Madrid. It would be easy to look past Frankfurt to the huge clash against European royalty, but if Bayern brings the same focus present today, then Bayern will line up against Frankfurt with the requisite attitude keep this winning streak going.
