Tottenham man a ‘symbol’ of club’s problems – Startling statistic makes things clear
Source:News -

Tottenham youngster Alejo Veliz has found himself a 'symptom' of loan club Espanyol, where he is yet to find his feet.

That's according to AS, who say the youngster is 'out of shape' at this moment in time and was unimpressive in the 4-1 defeat to Athletic Club on Saturday.

He is the definition of what's going wrong at the club, with the squad full of young, promising talent that is not currently playing at it's best.

Veliz was loaned out to Espanyol to allow him to gain experience away from Tottenham and establish himself as an elite player. Instead, he's not managed to fit in, but it's not quite as bad as what happened to him at Sevilla in the second half of last season.

He particularly struggled against Athletic, with his average position during the 49 minutes he was on the pitch in his own half despite him being a striker. He managed no shots, four passes and committed one foul. The newspaper says he was completely weighed down, like the rest of the team. It was a continuation of a poor start to the season in which he's been a starter in eight of ten games but barely made a difference.

The fact is that the loan spell is not going well, and neither are things for Espanyol, and the Tottenham youngster is being seen as a symbol of what's going wrong for the Spanish club.
