FC Barcelona will face Club America in a friendly in Dallas on December 21, the two teams have announced.

The match will take place at the 90,000-seat Cotton Bowl and will kick off at 8 p.m. ET, 7 p.m. local time. It will be Barca's second game at the venue, having played Juventus in a friendly there in the summer of 2022.

For Barcelona, it will be tight turnaround with a La Liga game against Almeria just one day before.

"Immediately after the final whistle against Almeria at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, the team will be packing their bags and heading off to the United States," a Barcelona release said.

"Once the game is over, the players will be heading back to Barcelona (or wherever else they choose to go for their Christmas break)."

The two sides last met in 2011, another friendly in Dallas which Barcelona won 2-0.

Proceeds from the game will benefit victims of Hurricane Otis, which caused widespread damage in Acapulco, Mexico last month.

America has already clinched first place in the 2023 Apertura regular season, with the playoffs beginning later this month.
