Newcastle United target could sign new terms despite agent claims

Newcastle United were linked with a move for Genoa defender Radu Dragusin earlier this month when his agent namedropped the Magpies. His representative, Florin Manea, claimed to have held talks with the Premier League side with a view to completing a transfer.

Sportwitness claim Manea said: "It's not an offer from Newcastle, I've had meetings with both Newcastle and other teams. Genoa would only sell him for an offer higher than EUR30m."

However, fresh reports from Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, claims Dragusin is on the verge of agreeing a new contract with Genoa. They claim the young defender will extend his stay with the Serie A club until June 2027 and get a pay rise at the same time.

Papiss Cisse training with Macclesfield Town Former Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has been training with Macclesfield Town with the view to signing a contract with the non-league club. That's according to the Telegraph, who say the 38-year-old is training with the Northern Premier League side after leaving French Ligue 2 side Amiens in the summer.

The reincarnated club are currently in the seventh tier of English football, the same division as Morpeth Town. The report claims former Everton striker Oumar Niasse is also training with the club, with both players living close to the Macclesfield.
