Kepa not expecting decision on his future until end of the season

After a disappointing campaign last year, things are going quite well for Real Madrid at the moment, having lost just one game all season, and five points altogether as they sit atop the league table, just ahead of surprise contenders Girona and defending champions Barcelona.

Since his arrival in mid-August, as the emergency replacement for Thibaut Courtois who had torn his ACL, Kepa has started every game, keeping five clean sheets in those ten appearances, and helping Real to La Liga's best defensive record. He's near the top in most individual statistics as well.

Kepa made it clear from day one that he would love to turn this loan into a permanent move - and clearly Chelsea wouldn't be averse to that either - but as things stand right now, he's not expecting any sort of resolution anytime soon.

"I'd say it has been a very positive two months. We've started the season well and it's a long season, but we're on the right path. So, I'd say it has been a positive start, but I know any grade for my performances this season will be given at the end of the campaign.

"I said it then and I still hope to stay. But, we haven't spoken about that or negotiated anything yet. It's only October and we're focused on the busy schedule."

Hopefully Kepa keeps this up, and indeed gets his move at the end of the season (even if it's unlikely to bring in a big sum for us).

For us, the future belongs to Sanchez (assuming he can avoid too many more passing oopsies) or Petrovic (will he finally get a game soon?) or Slonina ... or whoever.
