Girona head coach Michel has on Friday sent a public message the way of the club's supporters.
This comes after he and his players were recently targeted with a surprise round of whistles and jeers on the part of their own fanbase.
Girona are of course in the midst of what has proven a difficult opening to the new campaign.
After being forced to bid farewell to a whole host of key performers from the club's historic 2023/24 season over the summer, the Catalans have since struggled to recover their form.
All told, across their nine La Liga outings to date, Girona have managed just three victories, to go alongside two defeats from two in the Champions League.
Such woes saw frustrations boil over in the Blanquivermells' most recent outing, when the club's players were the subject of heavy whistles from the home stands at the Estadi Montilivi.
Speaking to the media in his pre-Real Sociedad press conference on Friday, the aforementioned Michel therefore made use of the opportunity to hit back at the fans involved:
"It is important that the fans are with us. I didn't like the way they whistled at us the other day. My players fight for every ball and they deserve to wear the Girona shirt."
