Girona manager Michel has admitted he wants to help fans who can't afford high ticket prices for the upcoming clash with Liverpool.

The Spanish side host Arne Slot's side on matchday six of the new league phase before then travelling to AC Milan and hosting Arsenal in their final two games.

They've had something of a difficult start to life in Europe's top competition, with a 1-0 loss to PSG followed by a 3-2 defeat to Feyenoord at home and then a 2-0 win over Slovan Bratislava this week.

The game against the six-time European champions is undeniably one of the biggest in their history and that's seen ticket prices at the club ramped up. El Periodico report that prices for the Liverpool game for members of the club range between EUR123, the most expensive, to EUR85, the cheapest.

That's led to complaints from the fanbase, something their manager is more than aware of and would like to do something about if he can.

"It worries me. It worries me a lot," he said.

"We always say that we play for our people, and we want a full field like the other day. We need them a lot! (We know) they must make a very big effort to be in an important Champions League match.

"I would like to help, but I don't know how. Football is for the people and the stadiums must be full. We want our fans at home because together we are stronger.

"I don't know how it could be fixed, no. I know... I understand everyone, I understand people's displeasure and I hope they are with us as always."
