Former Aberdeen forward Bojan Miovski on alert as Girona hint at January swap

Former Aberdeen forward Bojan Miovski has been told he must "adapt" as his Girona struggles continue.

The North Macedonia forward scored 44 goals in 91 starts for Aberdeen after his arrival from MTK Budapest but has not enjoyed a similarly prolific spell in Spain quite yet. The 25-year-old has bagged just two goals so far, with both those strikes coming in the same Copa Del Rey match against sixth-tier CD Extremadura at the end of last month. The Dons have not looked back since losing their striker, currently sitting level on points with Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Now, the former Granite City striker has been warned by his current club's sporting director Quique Carcel that he may be replaced in the January window if he doesn't up his game. Speaking to ElDesMarque, Carcel hinted at a potential January replacement as Miovski continues to be the side's main striker due to injuries to other forwards.

"He knows what he needs to improve. He is denied in front of goal, but we want to transmit confidence and tranquillity to him.

"There is still a month and a half left until the winter transfer window and things could very well have changed.

"We have to be cautious, but if we have needs, we will sign what we think is right."
