Scorer once against Rennes, the midfielder trained at the Academy, starter during the four matches in April, was elected MVP by Bang & Olufsen in April by AS Monaco fans on the networks social, with 51% of the votes.

"He has reached several milestones this season and is more consistent." That is what was said by Adi Hutter in a pre-match press conference before the team's trip Lyon about Maghnes Akliouche. It was totally understandable praise when looking at his performances in April. A regular starter in this hellish month for AS Monaco, the midfielder from the Academy has never disappointed.

The only goal against Rennes

It started with the reception of Stade Rennais during the first of the four matches. It was in fact he who scored the only goal of the game by finishing a cross from Ismail Jakobs, allowing the Rouge et Blanc to obtain three precious points in the race for the Champions League (1-0). Scorer of his seventh goal of the season, he was also one of the key men in the win over Brest (0-2), a real direct competitor, two weeks later.

If he did not score or deliver any decisive passes, the number 21 of the Principality club was indeed at the origin of Takumi Minamino's goal by making a key pass. Just like in Lyon on the early opening score of Wissam Ben Yedder where it is he who recovered the ball, went all the way up the field and found the Japanese international who woudl cross for his captain to score his 114th goal in the Monegasques colors.

I asked them so they do it (smile). Maghnes is a very good example for young players. This summer, I immediately saw his talent but he still lacked physicality and he needed to improve his defensive abilities. He has developed well -- he listens and never complains.

It's achievement which combines all the qualities of Maghnes and shows a certain level of defensive progress, as the Austrian manager mentioned at a press conference last week, even speaking of the taste for sacrifice. It was busy month for a player who also featured in his 50th professional match with his first club against LOSC (a 1-0 win).
