Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca has agreed terms with Real Betis to extend his stay ahead of next season, but a deal depends on whether or not the Whites earn promotion back to the Premier League.
When Daniel Farke moved to Elland Road during the summer transfer window, the squad underwent open heart surgery as the team had just been relegated from the Premier League and had a number of players with relegation clauses inserted into their contracts.
These clauses were dished out by the previous ownership, enticing players to move to West Yorkshire by essentially offering a 'get out of jail' free card should the club drop down a division, which is exactly what happened over the summer.

com/56SFOXm53H- Leeds United (@LUFC) November 26, 2022 A host of big-money signings were sent out on loan before the campaign commenced, including Roca.
The Spain international, who had a dreadful campaign with Leeds United last term, moved to Real Betis until the end of the season.
The midfielder has made no secret about wanting to stay with the Seville-based club next season.
Speaking in a recent interview with PTV Sevilla, Roca admitted that he's "very comfortable and very happy" with los Verdiblancos.
"We'll see (about my future).
It's true that we're in contact with the club.
We'll see how everything evolves.
It's up to my agent to reach an agreement, and then Betis will have to talk to Leeds.
We'll see how the negotiations progress, but I'm very comfortable and very happy.
" Leeds United Lead Race For PS1 Million Gem Leeds United Keen To Sign Former Celtic Player Now, according to a report from Spanish outlet ABC, via Football Espana, Roca has agreed terms to stay at Real Betis next season and will return to the club should Leeds fail to be promoted to the Premier League.
Should Farke's side earn promotion, the La Liga club will be forced to work out a fee for the player as his relegation clause would no longer take effect.
Writer's ViewRoca still has two years remaining on his contract at Leeds United, so if the Whites were to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking, Betis will have to fork out possibly an eight-figure sum to acquire his services.
Nevertheless, the Spaniard certainly hasn't done his valuation any harm since being out on loan and could recoup a nice bit of cash for Leeds in the summer if he signs for Real Betis on a permanent basis.
