Guido Rodriguez could leave Real Betis if a 'big team' makes an offer, the La Liga club's CEO says amid rumours linking the World Cup winner with a move to Manchester United.

Speaking to Radio Sevilla as speculation continues to swirl about Betis' much-admired Argentina international, Ramon Alarcon is keen to point out that Guido Rodriguez can probably afford to set his sights a little higher than Nottingham Forest.

Steve Cooper's side have been linked with Rodriguez on a number of occasions over the last few months. But Manchester United?

Well, that is a different proposition entirely.

"He could have gone to Lyon, earning more money (than at Betis), but he didn't go."

If Forest and Lyon are a step sidewards or a step backwards, then Manchester United - even with their difficulties on and off the pitch - would be very much the opposite. Estadio Deportivo reports that United are in for the tough-tackling Argentine after losing Casemiro to injury.

Rodriguez has a PS68 million release clause in his contract. But, with his deal expiring next summer, Betis may have little choice but to accept a lowball bid in January if they are to avoid losing a key player for nothing.

World Cup winner avaialble on the cheap "I don't know," Alarcon adds when pressed further on whether Rodriguez will commit his future to Los Verdiblancos. "On the one hand, there are times when we are hopeful, because we talk to the player and his family, and it seems that he is very much in favour of staying in Seville.

"But, on the other hand, it is true that we have not (agreed a new deal).

"There is always the economic part, because it would effectively be his last big contract. He tells us, and we believe him, that he has nothing (agreed) with anyone."

Betis, per El Desmarque, already have a potential replaced lined up; Internacional's USA rising star Johnny Cardoso.
