As reported by Kicker, Xabi Alonso could switch Bayer Leverkusen for Real Madrid next summer and bring one of his B04 stars with him.
Alonso was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool last summer. However, the Spaniard ultimately decided to stay with Leverkusen having just led them to their first Bundesliga title in a campaign in which they went unbeaten.
Despite being under contract until 2026, the rumours circulating Alonso's exit now point towards Real Madrid.
Current head coach of La Liga Champions, Carlo Ancelotti, has been with the club since 2021 and is rumoured to be leaving at the end of the season.
B04 aren't hitting the heights of their previous season, which were almost impossible to achieve in the first place. The squad will need refreshing again next season and perhaps that'll be the best time for Alonso to move onto a new project.
As per reports, should Alonso move to Real Madrid, he could bring at least one star from his current B04 squad with him.
Grimaldo to Real? Alejandro Grimaldo has thrived under Xabi Alonso and was one of the key players in the club's success last season.
It's rumoured that the wing-back is on the wish list at Real and should Alonso move there in the summer, a transfer could become even more likely.
Should both Spaniards make the move next summer, they could be greeted by yet another former B04 player. Jonathan Tah is currently being monitored by Real as they seek to find a central defender in the January window. Tah is being considered alongside two other players.
