Real Madrid are pushing hard to try and sign Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite to fix their defensive issues, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O'Rourke revealed that Carlo Ancelotti's son, David, is "really pushing for this move."
The Ancelotti's had the chance to work at Everton previously, and David is said to be a "big fan" of the 22-year-old defender as he views him as the answer to Real Madrid's defensive problems.
But with two and a half years to go on his current deal at Goodison Park, it is being seen as a difficult deal for the Spanish giants to complete.
Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that it is unlikely Everton's new owners will want to send out signals that they're willing to sell their best players as soon as they take over the football club.
Football Insider revealed that The Friedkin Group takeover is on course to be completed before the end of December, which would place them in control of the Merseyside giants in time for the January transfer window.
