Jude Bellingham is already out of action for Real Madrid and the English sensation will now be joined in the treatment room by midfield team-mate Eduardo Camavinga

Eduardo Camavinga could miss the rest of the season for Real Madrid after the French midfielder suffered a serious knee injury.

After seeing newly-crowned Golden Boy winner Jude Bellingham forced to drop out of the latest England squad with a shoulder injury earlier this week, the Spanish giants have now suffered the huge injury of Camavinga going down while on international duty with France.

During a training session on Wednesday, the 21-year-old star was pictured grimacing in pain and laying on the turf following a challenge from ex-Barcelona and current Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembele. Having returned to the Spanish capital for a scan, Real have now confirmed his major injury in a fresh blow to their hopes of reclaiming the La Liga title this season.

Bellingham's layoff is expected to be much shorter than Camavinga's, having already missed Real's last two games, both comfortable wins. The Birmingham-born ace did fly back to England over the weekend after being called up by Gareth Southgate, but a statement on Tuesday confirmed that he'd continue his recovery back in Madrid.

Although not as crucial to Ancelotti's setup as Bellingham has rapidly become since his summer move from German giants Borussia Dortmund, former Rennes wonderkid Camavinga - who signed a new long-term contract this month - has featured in all 13 of Los Blancos' league fixtures this term, starting nine and appearing as a substitute on four occasions.

It isn't just Real's midfield which has been ravaged by injuries either. Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga - on loan from Chelsea for the remainder of the campaign - is still sidelined with a thigh injury and star forward Vinicius Junior picked up a knock during Brazil's defeat to Colombia on Friday.

Meanwhile, first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and defender Eder Militao are both long-term absentees, having each torn an ACL earlier this season.

According to AS, Ancelotti has plans to stabilise his team by moving Toni Kroos into Camavinga's role at the base of midfield, while centre-back David Alaba - who plays as a midfielder for Austria - and youngster Mario Martin could also act as cover.
