Kieran Tierney Scotland Euros injury update as Real Sociedad boss names timeline

Kieran Tierney is expected to be back in action for Real Sociedad next week in a boost to Scotland.

The defender added to Steve Clarke's injury worries for the big tournament in Germany as he picked up a muscle injury in training for the La Liga side. Clarke's defence in particular is already looking short on bodies with a number of stars picking up knocks towards the end of their campaigns.

Sociedad released a statement last week confirming it was a adductor muscle for their on-loan Arsenal man but were unable to mention a timeline, stating the player would be monitored. But manager Imanol Alguacil has now delivered a more positive prognosis and expects to have the 26-year-old available next week along with two teammates.

Fellow defenders Nathan Patterson, Aaron Hickey and Grant Hanley are facing a race to be fit for the Euros.

Midfielder Lewis Ferguson has been ruled out and Stuart Armstrong and Scott McTominay picked up knocks but there was better news on the pair who are expected to recover in time.
