Director made ‘mistake’ not signing Wolves man in summer – Player would have ‘accepted offer’

Wolverhampton Wanderers allowed Fabio Silva to join UD Las Palmas on loan towards the end of the summer window.

The striker has scored three goals and registered one assist from nine games this season. He's starred for the La Liga side since Diego Martinez replaced Luis Carrion last month.

On Wednesday, Mundo Deportivo said the Wolves owned player has become a 'revelation' in recent games for Las Palmas.

This wouldn't have been possible if Sevilla decided to bet on the 22-year-old in the last window. According to Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, the Andalusian club had an opportunity to sign the Wolves man.

The Portuguese had held discussions with Sevilla over a loan move. It's further claimed Silva 'would have accepted the offer' from Garcia Pimienta's side, but the deal didn't take shape. That's because Sevilla sporting director Victor Orta decided to bet on Kelechi Iheanacho, who arrived at the club on a free transfer. The 28-year-old has scored a brace in the Copa del Rey win over Las Rozas CF but is yet to score in the league after seven games.

Silva, on the other hand, is starring for Las Palmas. The outlet claims Sevilla's decision to not sign him is another 'mistake' made by Orta.
