Broadcaster: Aston Villa to receive 'Astronomical sum' for exit-linked star as news emerges
Source:Astonvillanews

We're delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he'll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club...

It would take an "astronomical fee" for Aston Villa to sell Douglas Luiz after a development has emerged, according to Ty Bracey.

The Daily Mirror reported on Saturday (11 November) that Villa have "no interest in entertaining a sale" of the Brazilian international.

It said Arsenal have made the 25-year-old a "primary target" after Thomas Partey has been ruled out for up to eight weeks with a thigh injury.

Bracey believes the midfielder is a player that the Villans "definitely" need to keep hold of as they look to continue their progress on the pitch.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: "Douglas Luiz only signed a new contract not long ago, but if that's the statement of intent that's needed to keep him at Villa Park, then we should do it.

"He's bang in form and I think he's really happy at Villa. With the new contract, it doesn't necessarily scare the club off but, obviously, they have to buy him out of his contract.

"It would be an astronomical sum if he were to go, so it covers both parties. He gets an increase wage because he absolutely deserves it. If we tie him down to another long-term contract, that's great for us as a club.

"He definitely deserves it, he's class in every game. Him and Kamara next to each other is something that I want to see for years to come. I think it's important to tie him down and he's definitely someone we need to keep hold of."

In other Aston Villa news, a broadcaster has predicted an Emery problem soon after a "massive" development.
