Credit: Jon Durr-USA TODAY Sports There is no debate that Chelsea FC is after a young and dynamic striker to pair with Nicholas Jackson to lead the line next season. Amid the rumors for Aston Villa's Jhon Duran and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, this has almost been a known fact to the general public. Although, in the last 48 hours there have been briefings that have brought a new prospect to light.

Samu Omorodion of Atletico Madrid is the new target man, according to Fabrizio Romano. Fabrizio also talks about how Chelsea has actually already had a bid of EUR30m plus add-ons up to EUR40m rejected by Atletico. That was on June 18th and as of writing on June 21st Chelsea has had in excess of three bids rejected with the latest bid rumoring around PS42.2m according to Matteo Moreno of SOS Fanta in Italy.

Clearly, Atletico have a priority to keep Omorodion and see him fitting into their squad next season. With rumors swirling around a potential exit of the Spaniard Alvaro Morata and always clubs looming for Antoine Griezmann, it will certainly be tough to lure Omorodion to Stamford Bridge.

What would Chelsea be getting in Samu Omorodion? Samu Omorodion is an Atletico Madrid player but spent last season on loan at Alaves. He bagged eight league goals last season and has shown flashes of immense talent. The young Spaniard is only twenty years old and his talent is through the roof, a showing at a bigger club with better service and coaching could do him wonders. He's got a furious pace and is big at 6'4. Here is a video of some of his highlights from last season at Alaves:
