Manager Lee Johnson spoke to the media after his side were defeated 1-0 at home to Lincoln City on Saturday afternoon.

Alex Mitchell's early goal was the difference and Fleetwood couldn't quite get the response they required as they also went down to ten men as Toto Nsiala was sent off in additional time in the second period.

Here's what he had to say:

On the match itself...

"It is a tough one to analyse straight off the bat, we started well, in the first six or seven minutes we had entries into their box and their goal was their first attack in the game - it happens way too much, it's a bitter pill to swallow, our negative traits then came out.

"I thought we were generally in control, but we never really infiltrated their central defenders anywhere near enough, I can't remember a save their goalkeeper has had to make.

"You can't throw the baby out with the bath water in a sense where there was enough good play in the build-up but not enough cutting edge, we know the strikers need service and not just in the first eight, nine minutes - we had so many corners today as well."

On changing fortunes moving forward...

"I do believe massively and the squad and the talent, but if you haven't got those dark arts to earn the yards then it's going to be tough. Any lost points are a missed opportunity there's no doubt about that.

"It's not a million miles away, but there are shortcomings, and we must try and address that. Can we go and beat Reading? Absolutely that is possible so that's our next focus. We're honest with ourselves, we'll be honest in terms of reviewing the performance.

"Today, there were shoots of positivity, particularly with the way that we controlled much of the game. There needs to be more action, there needs to be more forward play. We're just looking for that little bit of quality in the final third."

On Junior Quitirna's impression on the squad...

"It's just that level of commitment needed as we saw from Junior as an example in that 20-25-minute spell to go and make a difference. There are not enough players in my view trusting themselves to go and make a difference.

"I think we have the talent to do that but I'm obviously after the mindset as well to be able to do that - Junior Quitirna is rising to it, I think as a rule he's progressed really, really, well.

"With Junior, it's about keeping bringing the best out of him, keep encouraging him and I think the lads need to appreciate what they've got there and feed him as much as possible."
