Leeds United loanee Max Wober was in action for his country in the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier on Monday (16 October) in Baku.

Wober's Austria side won the contest against Azerbaijan by a 1-0 scoreline but the win was a lot more comfortable than it looked.

They needed the three points to keep up the pressure on group leaders Belgium and also secure their qualification for the tournament.

The 25-year-old is out on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach this season and there appear to be doubts over him ever playing for Leeds again.

However, he's still owned by the Whites and if Daniel Farke is keeping tabs on how he fares on international duty, he will be impressed.

Playing in his preferred left centre-back position, Wober kept the opposition attackers at bay and ensured that they did not even get a single shot on goal.

According to Sofascore, he looked comfortable with the ball at his feet - completing 30 passes with an accuracy of 86 per cent.

He even made two clearances and got fouled once, ensuring that he kept the hosts from getting into goal-scoring areas.

He also won 50 per cent of his attempted aerial and ground duels and did not get caught out of position which would've otherwise had dire consequences.

Wober will be thrilled as the clean sheet and three points helped his country qualify for the EUROs.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that big European clubs have been keeping tabs on a Whites player for a while and are still willing to sign him.
