Time is running out for clubs wanting to sign Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United.

The midfielder's release clause of PS100million expires at midnight on Monday, June 24, leaving interested sides just hours left on the clock.

The 26-year-old has scored 17 goals in his 107 appearances for the Magpies since joining in 2022.

He was instrumental in securing Champions League football for them last season as Newcastle earned a fourth place finish in the 2022/23 season.

Naturally, the Brazilian has reportedly attracted significant interest from a number of clubs including Manchester City and PSG.

The Gunners are keen on bolstering their attacking and midfield options potential ahead of next season, with Amadou Onana another possible target.

While Newcastle would not be happy about letting go of such a valued member of their squad, they would have no option but to let Guimaraes go should another club activate the clause before midnight.

The actual chance of that clause being triggered given the looming deadline in next to nothing - and Newcastle are not expecting any club to trigger it either.

He signed a new five-year contract with Newcastle in October 2023 and at the time, he told the club website how happy he was feeling at this stage in his life.

Kieran Trippier reveals the wholesome piece of advice he gave to Newcastle & England teammate Anthony Gordon at the start of the season "I'm absolutely delighted," he said. "The fans have made me feel at home since my first day here and I feel so loved in my life.

"I'm so happy here. It's a place that is so comfortable to be and I hope to keep making the supporters happy and helping the team do well. That's my goal, because there are no words to describe how happy I am to be here.

"I remember in my first interview, I said I wanted to play for this club in the Champions League and now it's happening. We are doing so well and when I look around the pitch at my team-mates, I am so proud of them all. I'm proud of everyone; the team, the staff, the owners and the fans.

"The city believes again and it's unbelievable what we have done for the team. I hope that this can continue. It's amazing what has happened in my life in the last two years."

Meanwhile, another name that Newcastle are determined to keep at the club is Swedish forward Alexander Isak.

As talkSPORT revealed in April, Isak has held talks over signing a new contract at St James' Park and talks are believed to be progressing positively.

Newcastle hope that selling sought-after teenager Yankuba Minteh, wanted by Everton and Lyon among others, will ease their concerns around PSR rules.

Striker Callum Wilson, England defender Kieran Trippier and midfielder Sean Longstaff are other players they could be willing to cash in on ahead of star duo Guimaraes and Isak.

Newcastle begin their 2024/25 Premier League campaign at home to Southampton on Saturday 17 August.
