Jack Grealish Looking Ahead after England Disappointment
Source:Bitter and

Jack Grealish was dealt a heavy blow after England manager Gareth Southgate dropped him from the English squad for Euro 2024. It came as a real shock for a player who is one of England's most talented.

At 28 years old this could be Grealish's last chance to appear in a Euro tournament, so missing out was understandably a huge disappointment for the player.

However, it appears the Manchester City forward has decided to look on the bright side instead and double down on preparation for next season.

Grealish posted a video on his Instagram story, showing himself training on a field in Italy. The pitch is said to be owned by Serie A side Juventus. He must have sought permission to use one of the club's pitches to keep fit while on holiday enjoying the Italian sunshine.

He captioned the post: "8pm, 25 degrees, perfect." That suggests he is enjoying himself rather than lamenting. After having a less productive campaign with City last term, the winger will be looking to get back to the level that made the club break its transfer record to secure his services.

With just two goals and the same number of assists in the Premier League last season, the PS100m-signing will be looking to do better next season. The weight of expectations on his shoulders as a result of his price tag leave him with no other choice. Early preparations will certainly help in that regard.

Meanwhile, the Three Lions have so far performed below expectations at the Euros, despite topping their group. The team has struggled to dispatch opponents, particularly struggling on the left side where the winger could have featured. So maybe Gareth Southgate made a mistake leaving him out of the squad.

His experience and ability to create chances as was seen in setting up a goal during England's last warm up game before the tournament show how valuable he could be.

However, the player is not complaining. Instead, he is focused on preparing for the task ahead. And that can only put him in a good position to bounce back next season.
