Man City are considering their options in the transfer market in a bid to replace Kyle Walker after his declining performances at the Etihad.

This is according to former Man United chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that City have already begun working in the background to assess their options.

Football Insider revealed on 28 October that Tottenham wing-back Pedro Porro is one of the names on their shortlist of possible replacements.

This comes after the City captain's recent form has taken a severe dip from his usual level, raising growing concerns about his long-term future in the position.

Now aged 34, the England international remains a regular fixture in Pep Guardiola's side, but alternative options are now being considered behind the scenes.

It is said that the club "already know" who their priority targets will be to fill Walker's position after communications between Guardiola and the transfer team.

"It's right that he's had a bit of baggage with him, he's had injury issues and he's now started to make the odd mistake both for City and England.

"His form has not been at the high level we have grown to expect from him.

"He's 34, he's started making some big mistakes, and the powers that be have taken note of it.

"Whether that's because he's not playing as a straight-forward right-back, it's hard to tell.

"Now, Guardiola and his staff will be looking and speaking to their transfer team, and I've heard they've already started looking for new options.

"They've got young Rico Lewis who can play there, but is he going to be their nailed-on right-back week in, week out? I'm not convinced.

"Man City always handle these situations very well, and from what I hear they're putting plans in place for where to go from this position."
